Health (Research into populations, health and social protection)

Here you'll find all the research relating to health (research into populations, health and social protection) carried out at CNRS Humanities & Social Sciences and its laboratories.

This field involves almost every discipline (sociology, political science, history, philosophy, geography, economics, anthropology, psychology and psycho-linguistics, law, literature). Health research in the humanities and social sciences is not the same thing as public health research even though some of the research contributes to constructing knowledge that is useful for public health policies. In recent years, CNRS Humanities & Social Sciences has developed numerous initiatives in health humanities and social sciences and also in the context of the pandemic, with the help of specific funding from the Ministry of Research and Higher Education. This particularly involved setting up the 'SHS Santé' (HSS Health) platform and launching several research projects in the framework of the 'Du monde d'avant au monde d'après' (MAMA, From the world before to the world afterwards) initiative. The subject covers a wide range of important issues that make it a valid direct or indirect object of research. It intersects with and feeds into the study of other objects like work for example: health inequalities, health policies, global health, digital health and health data, ethics of care, environmental health and so forth.
