Economics and management

Here you'll find all the economics and management research carried out at CNRS Humanities & Social Sciences and its laboratories.

Economics and management research at the CNRS covers all the fields that make up these two disciplines. This research is distinguished by its marked internationalisation and its quantitative and formalised approach based on modelling, experimentation and data analysis. It also involves interaction with other humanities and social sciences disciplines, particularly history, sociology, law, political science, philosophy, linguistics, geography and anthropology. Many consolidated and emerging research projects also involve economics and management at the interfaces with other major CNRS disciplines.

The following interactions are particularly noteworthy - with mathematics and computer science; computational and data sciences; biological and health disciplines; cognitive neuroscience and psychology; environmental, climate and biodiversity ecology; physical and engineering sciences. Research into economics and management at the CNRS covers a wide spectrum ranging from theory to more applied and empirical approaches. A strong emphasis is placed on transferring ideas, technology and results to private and public sector decision-makers particularly in the fields of competition and regulation, decision-making tools and the evaluation of public sector actions and policies. In geographical terms, this research focuses on developed countries, emerging and developing countries alike.
