The question of the body in the humanities and social sciences is studied in several ways including the body itself and its physical and symbolic place in societies at all times and in all countries. The subject is also studied as an interdisciplinary subject along with other CNRS Institutes. Issues linked to sport and its relationship with society are one such way of studying the body.
