Iglobes Symposium – June 25, 2026
A CNRS International Research Laboratory based at the University of Arizona and affiliated with ENS-PSL since 2018, Iglobes brings together researchers to address major environmental challenges with significant societal implications.
Laboratoire international de recherche du CNRS implanté à l’Université de l’Arizona et associé à l’ENS-PSL depuis 2018, Iglobes réunit des chercheurs autour de grands enjeux environnementaux à portée sociétale.
Established by CNRS at the University of Arizona in 2008, Iglobes fosters interdisciplinary collaboration between France and the University of Arizona on global environmental change. The symposium will bring together researchers engaged in France-Arizona collaborations to present work across Iglobes’ three core directions: crises, measuring and monitoring, and adaptation and mitigation. Past and current students will also share their experience working with Iglobes and using Arizona and the western United States as a “living lab” to address a broad range of environmental research questions with major societal implications.
Symposium: 1:00–5:40 p.m. / Available both in person and online
6:00–8:00 p.m.: cocktail reception and will be followed by a musical event involving artistic creation from a Sonoran desert experience.

Créé par le CNRS à l’Université de l’Arizona en 2008, Iglobes favorise les collaborations interdisciplinaires entre la France et l’Université de l’Arizona autour des grands enjeux du changement environnemental global.
Le symposium réunira des chercheurs engagés dans ces collaborations franco-américaines afin de présenter leurs travaux selon les trois axes structurants d’Iglobes : les crises, la mesure et le suivi, ainsi que l’adaptation et l’atténuation. D’anciens et actuels étudiants témoigneront également de leur parcours au sein d’Iglobes et montreront comment l’Arizona et l’Ouest des États-Unis constituent un véritable « laboratoire vivant » pour explorer un large éventail de questions de recherche environnementale aux fortes implications sociétales.
Symposium de 13h à 17h40 / Organisé en format hybride (en présentiel et en visioconférence)
18h00 à 20h : cocktail suivi d’un événement musical autour d’une création artistique issue d’une expérience dans le désert de Sonoran.
